About global diabetes walk-2018
For RegistrarAs we are all aware that, Diabetes is life threatening condition prevalent among all age groups of society. One of the major reasons of diabetes especially among young people is lifestyle habits and lack of exercise. India has a population of around 72 Million people living with diabetes and number is increasing at a very rapid pace. The devastating effects of unattended diabetes and the increasing number of people with diabetes need to know what they should do to delay or prevent the dreaded complications and other stakeholders must be sensitized to participate in the fight against diabetes.
With an aim to create awareness National Youth Foundation in association with Mahavir Shikshan Sansthan is organizing “Global Diabetes Walk” on 14th November, 2018 across 75 Districts of U.P, however the Mega Event is being organized at 1090 Crossing, Lucknow.
The said Event shall witness participation of over 20,000 People of Lucknow & approx 5,00,000 People across Uttar Pradesh. The Event is organized in collaboration with National Health Mission, Govt. of U.P, NCC, NSS and Amar Ujala Foundation.
The aim of “Global Diabetes Walk” is to sensitize people about prevention of Diabetes by adopting healthy lifestyle and ensuring to walk atleast 10000 steps daily. Last Year during Walk Campaign with NHM, NCC & NSS around 4,00,000 Participants walked through on World Diabetes Day in 75 Districts & 822 Blocks of UP which was the maximum participation of people among 67 Nations on that Day.
Please note that “Global Diabetes Walk” is a global activity propagated by World Diabetes Foundation, Denmark since last 15 Years, already Global Diabetes Walk is being organized in 67 Nations every year.
